Responsibilities
- Provide health and safety leadership
- Guide and mentor the regional physical hydrogeology team
- Collaborate with other senior members of the Hydrogeology and Mining teams
- Lead physical hydrogeology components for local, regional, and international consulting projects to ensure safe delivery, timely completion, and adherence to client and WSP standards
- Deliver leading practice consulting services to internal and external clients
- Establish linkages with other business units to support and enhance service delivery
- Develop groundwater projects for oil and gas and mining projects at various stages of development
- Interact frequently with clients, local and regional teams of groundwater professionals, and local experts in groundwater modeling and geochemistry
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to meet project requirements
Qualifications
- Significant experience in Hydrogeology, having reached a senior level in consultancy or a relevant industrial/utility/regulatory/academic profession
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Hydrogeology or Geology or a related field
- Over 10 years' experience in the hydrogeology industry, primarily focused on oil and gas and mining sectors
- Registered Chartered/Professional Geologist or Member of a related professional body
- Active connections to the local oil and gas and mining business, with established clientele
- Professional registration/chartered status with a relevant industry body
- Essential experience in UK hydrogeology, with international project experience beneficial
- Experience in providing specialist hydrogeological support to major linear infrastructure scheme projects, water resources/environment projects, and built development/industry
- Experience in designing and delivering complex hydrogeological investigations and managing projects involving significant groundwater resources
- Team player with a desire to work collaboratively and flexibly
- Experience in mentoring and developing staff
- Good communication and reporting skills
