At Adyen, you will be part of a team that engineers ambitious solutions. Adyen is a financial technology platform that offers payments, data, and financial products in a single solution.
As a Senior Software Engineer (Java), your role will be to build and maintain a distributed high-performance platform. You will contribute to architectural design decisions and ensure the scalability of the platform. Additionally, you will mentor and coach junior engineers and peers, and collaborate across teams and time zones.
The team is responsible for developing the technology behind a unified platform that enables platforms to manage their global payments and financial services seamlessly. This includes:
- Running onboarding, verification, and compliance processes across multiple markets
- Managing payments and triggering faster payouts and bank transfers in all preferred currencies
- Offering value-added services like capital lending and the issuing of payment cards and bank accounts
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining a distributed high-performance platform
- Contributing to architectural design decisions and ensuring scalability
- Mentoring and coaching junior engineers and peers
- Collaborating across teams and time zones
- Identifying and improving parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable
- Working on core financial data processes and finance infrastructure
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience working with object-oriented programming languages (Java)
- Previous experience mentoring developers
- Deep understanding of architectural software design
- Proficient in creating performance database queries and table structures
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Fluency in English
