Description
We are seeking a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join the team at The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow, part of Circle Health Group.
This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, where you will supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
The successful candidate will provide expert clinical pharmacy input as part of the multidisciplinary team, conducting medicines reconciliation, clinical screening, and therapeutic drug monitoring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Optimising medicines use through evidence-based interventions, ensuring the safe and effective management of long-term and acute conditions
- Supporting prescribing decisions through clinical assessment, risk evaluation, and formulary guidance
- Leading on implementation of medicines optimisation strategies, ensuring prescribing is cost-effective, safe, and aligned with national/local guidelines
- Contributing to the development and review of clinical guidelines, protocols, and policies
- Monitoring and reporting on medicines usage, compliance, and safety incidents, participating in root cause analysis and quality improvement
To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Be a GPhC-registered Pharmacist
- Have significant post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy, preferably in a hospital setting
- Possess strong clinical knowledge and experience in medicines optimisation
- Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Have experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff
- Have completed or be due to complete a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or CPPE Pharmacists in General Practice programme within the next 12 months
Circle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £40.00 per hour, depending on level of experience, training, and qualification.
