Description
The Junior Buyer and Product Developer will play an integral supporting role in the sourcing and product development strategy for Soho Home's Outdoor Furniture category.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development critical path, ensuring key calendar milestones are met
- Manage administrative tasks along the critical path and product lifecycle
- Update and maintain the seasonal development tracker
- Collaborate with the Soho Home Design team to execute briefs to a high standard
- Issue seasonal briefs to suppliers, ensuring specifications, price targets, and key deadlines are communicated
- Attend design and production meetings, recording comments and preparing feedback for suppliers
- Work with the Technical team to ensure products meet quality, legal, and safety standards
- Assist with meeting preparations and ad-hoc department tasks
- Lead department trade preparation and present in the absence of the Manager
- Drive commercial analysis of the department to maximise brand sales opportunities
- Compile competitive analysis reports and support sub-category ranging
- Demonstrate awareness of competitors and external industry trends
- Assist with prototype and finalisation meetings, and oversee logistical elements
- Support the successful onboarding of new suppliers
- Proactively manage customer service queries
- Attend trade fairs and travel to factories when required
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years product development and commercial buying experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with a varied supply base
- Collaborative, creative problem-solver with organisational skills and attention to detail
- Analytical and results-oriented with a professional demeanour
- Ability to work in a changing environment and adapt to industry trends
