Description
We are seeking a Lead Solution Engineer to join our team at Mollie Connect, a hybrid team of six spread across three offices. As a Lead Solution Engineer, you will lead and develop the team, staying hands-on with our most complex and strategic engagements. You will translate complex business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa, from pre-sales conversations through implementation and beyond.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing a team of six Solutions Engineers
- Defining the team's way of working and setting OKRs that align with Mollie Connect's strategic priorities
- Collaborating with Partner Management team leads to ensure seamless collaboration across commercial and technical workstreams
- Leading upmarket pre-sales and upsell engagements, acting as a trusted technical advisor to prospects
- Developing and refining the team's consultative selling approach
- Staying hands-on with the most complex integrations, particularly multi-entity setups with unique compliance, regulatory, or architectural challenges
- Guiding the team in supporting partners from integration design through technical validation and go-live
- Representing the voice of platform partners in product discussions and contributing to shaping the Mollie Connect roadmap
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, Sales Engineering, or a comparable role in the software/SaaS industry
- At least 2 years of experience leading a team
- Strong technical acumen, including comfort with APIs, integration architectures, and technical documentation
- Hands-on experience with APIs, webhooks, and modern integration patterns
- Proven ability in consultative, technical pre-sales
- Experience working with complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Fluency in English
Nice to have:
- Experience in the payments, fintech, or financial services industry
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory challenges in multi-entity or cross-border payment setups
- Proficiency in one or more coding languages
