We're looking for a Building Consultant - Agricultural Subsidence to provide expert technical leadership across a portfolio of predominantly agricultural and domestic subsidence claims. You'll use your specialist knowledge to assess causes, identify appropriate mitigation measures, and develop effective repair solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and strategic direction throughout the lifecycle of a claim
- Support informed decision-making while Project Managers maintain ownership of customer relationships
- Determine the most appropriate claims strategy, ensuring claims are progressed efficiently, effectively, and in line with customer and insurer expectations
- Provide support on complex and high-value cases, including undertaking customer visits where specialist technical input is required
- Engage directly with insurer clients when necessary, collaborating on the development of suitable strategies and solutions for complex or challenging claims
- Play a key role in maintaining the quality, consistency, and accuracy of technical reporting across the business
- Lead quality assurance activities and support the ongoing development of Project Managers
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving License
- Working towards or have a chartered building professional qualification (e.g., MCIOB, MRICS, MICE)
- Comprehensive expertise in identifying and diagnosing structural defects and subsidence in buildings
- Experience in insurance claims handling would be beneficial
- Ability to make decisions, deliver excellent customer service, and communicate effectively with empathy
