Job Overview
We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our ClickPipes team, which focuses on building services for data ingestion into ClickHouse Cloud. This role involves working at petabyte scale, addressing challenges in distributed systems, fault tolerance, and high-throughput ingestion.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance integrations with streaming platforms and object storage, such as Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Storage.
- Continuously improve systems based on operational metrics, customer feedback, and evolving business requirements.
- Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions impacting the platform's scalability and resilience.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and respond to production incidents.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience building and operating distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of Go and its ecosystem.
- Experience designing systems for scalability and fault tolerance, with an understanding of concurrency, consistency, and failure recovery.
- Understanding of cloud-native architecture and practical experience with at least one major cloud provider.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues in distributed systems.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate across engineering and product teams.
- Experience with data ingestion pipelines, streaming platforms, or object storage is a plus.
