Description
Axios is centralising AI in its operations, and is seeking an AI Fellow to work with its co-founders. The fellow will guide and build AI capabilities across the organisation.
The AI Fellow will work directly with Axios co-founders and senior leaders to accelerate AI integration. This role combines research, prototyping, experimentation, and strategic advisory work.
Responsibilities include:
- Briefing founders and leadership on key developments in large language models and applied AI
- Building and testing prototypes for internal tools, workflows, and product ideas
- Pressure-testing emerging AI use cases across editorial, revenue, product, and operations
- Identifying high-leverage opportunities for AI to increase speed, quality, and impact
- Translating complex technical concepts into practical applications for non-technical leaders
Requirements:
- Deep curiosity about AI and its applications
- Ability to think in systems and frameworks
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapid experimentation
- Clear explanation of complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Operation at both technical and strategic levels
Strong preference for a Winter 2026 college graduate and candidates located in the DC metro area.
The salary for this role is $6,000-$7,000 per month (3-month term), dependent on factors such as location, experience, and skills.
