Description
The Payments Risk Engineering team at PayPal builds and supports services that detect and prevent fraud in transactions between PayPal and its users and partners. As a Payments Risk Engineer, you will design, implement, test, and deliver large-scale software solutions to protect customers while maintaining seamless payments. You will work closely with Product Owners and Domain Technical Leads to develop deep skills in software design, API design, data structures, and algorithms.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Guide junior engineers and advise immediate management on project-level issues
- Operate with minimal supervision, making technical decisions based on internal conventions and industry best practices
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree
- Strong applied experience in software development, particularly with Java EE technologies
- Proficient in back-end development using Java EE technologies
- Strong Object-Oriented Programming skills and experience with HTTP, REST APIs, and microservices
