Description
As a Lead Product Designer at Samsara, you'll own design for strategic initiatives within one of our product areas, building software that runs in various settings. You'll frame the problem, design and build the experience across web and mobile, and carry it through launch and iteration with your product and engineering partners.
You'll engage directly with customers, bringing their feedback into your process throughout. Your efforts will result in real-world impact, helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and ensure workers return home safely.
Responsibilities:
- Lead large, ambiguous initiatives, from problem framing through launch and iteration.
- Demonstrate good judgement and taste in your deliverables.
- Regularly meet and engage with strategic customers to bring the customer voice alongside product data into product decisions.
- Leverage AI tools through every step of the process, defining new ways of working.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, tools, and technology.
- Ship code to production across our design system, web products, and mobile apps.
- Lead through building, not politics.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of product design experience designing UX/UI for web and mobile applications.
- A portfolio with case studies that show how you approached an ambiguous, multi-part problem and what happened after you shipped.
- Deep interaction and visual design skills, with the judgment to know when to use an established pattern and when to invent one.
- AI tools in your regular design practice.
- Experience mentoring designers.
- Direct customer research experience, and comfort using it to make product decisions.
- Experience shipping with cross-functional teams on short cycles.
Benefits:
- Flexible, employee-led remote model.
- Professional development stipend.
- Comprehensive health and parental leave plans.
- Performance-based bonus/variable pay.
- Equity (for eligible roles).
Salary: $137,445 - $231,000 USD per year
