Customer Delivery Driver

As a Customer Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd in Londonderry, County Derry, United Kingdom, you will be responsible for delivering customer orders straight to their doorsteps. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, completing checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and organised, and that customers' shopping is secure before setting off. You will also communicate with customers, keeping them informed of any delays, dealing with customer queries, and any changes to their order.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver groceries to customers on time and in great condition
• Complete checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and organised
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in a variety of locations, traffic, weather, and road conditions
• Move containers weighing up to 15kg and deliver shopping to a variety of properties
• Communicate with customers, including keeping them informed of any delays
• Help across the store as needed when not out making deliveries

Requirements:

• Friendly and welcoming, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers
• Comfortable driving a larger vehicle safely in different locations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical and high-energy environment
• Able to use initiative, solve problems, and make safe decisions while out on the road
• Enjoys both working independently while also thriving as part of the wider store team
• Flexibility and willingness to work across the store and take on new challenges
• Open to learning, developing, and trying new things to improve our service
• Confident learning to use route and delivery technology
