Product Designer, Player Experiences

Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, focusing on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games.

As a Product Designer, Player Experiences, you will focus on the player-facing side of studio integrations, designing experiences players have on Discord and in-game as a result of studio integrations.

Your work will span surfaces like in-game overlays, the Discord client, and Discord mobile, wherever players discover games, make new friends, and play together.

You will work across the full product development cycle, from early exploration through launch and iteration, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and data scientists.

Responsibilities:

• Embed within the Player Experience squad and partner with a staff designer, engineers, product managers, and data scientists to design the player-facing side of studio integrations.
• Design player-facing features like friend invites, game presence, and shareable game moments.
• Mix visual, UX, and interaction design skills to solve for desktop and mobile surfaces.
• Playtest your work regularly, iterating on feedback from players, peers, and leadership.
• Produce comprehensive design documentation and interactive prototypes.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience designing and shipping a web/app product for various devices and platforms.
• Experience designing consumer-facing mobile features, including familiarity with mobile platform conventions and constraints.
• Ownership mindset with a bias toward action.
• High craft bar and attention to detail in user experience, visual design, interaction design, and prototyping.
• Ability to communicate complex problems and experiences simply.

Benefits:

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 to $166,500 + equity + benefits.
