Render Programmer [Snowdrop]

Ubisoft is seeking a Render Programmer to work on their Snowdrop game engine.

As a Render Programmer, you will be part of the World Tech rendering team, focusing on implementing, extending, and maintaining the various World Rendering Systems of the Snowdrop engine.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and iterate on rendering features for large, open-world environments
• Work with C++
• Develop world rendering features that scale across multiple platforms and different hardware capabilities
• Balance visual quality, streaming, and level-of-detail strategies with memory footprint and runtime performance
• Keep the existing world rendering pipeline and tools up to date
• Communicate with teams that use the technology to understand their requirements

Qualifications:

• Professional experience with C++ programming
• Experience with performance-critical and/or rendering programming
• Solid understanding of graphics APIs and modern rendering pipelines
• Ability to accurately predict task duration and understand dependencies
• Strong debugging skills
• Awareness of new developments in graphics APIs and hardware
• Knowledge of internal tools used in the video game production pipeline

• Effective communication with technical and non-technical parties
• Self-motivated with attention to detail
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English
