Description
As a Group Financial Crime Screening Manager at Wise, you will help shape the company's Financial Crime strategy and framework by advising on and overseeing Wise's Politically Exposed Persons ("PEPs") and Adverse Media ("AM") processes, systems, and controls.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of Wise's financial crime typology mapping to ensure a comprehensive view of financial crime risks.
- Collaborate with various teams, including Product Compliance, Engineering, and Ops, to advise on the development and maintenance of the PEP & AM control framework.
- Provide subject matter expertise on remediation programs, compliance escalations, and other ad-hoc requests.
- Review and approve new systems and controls, as well as material changes to existing systems and controls.
- Support large-scale initiatives requiring cross-functional collaboration.
Governance & Oversight:
- Support the development of Group Financial Crime policies and procedures.
- Oversee results from Financial Crime Quality Assurance, Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring and Testing, and Internal Audit.
- Support oversight on Global PEP & AM issues and incidents.
Knowledge and Awareness:
- Support the review and approval of related procedures and operational guidelines.
- Assist the Knowledge Delivery Team with training needs assessments and skills assessments.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in financial crime compliance, with a focus on PEPs and AM.
- In-depth knowledge of global financial crime regulations, risk management frameworks, and control environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
