Assistant Vice President - Derivatives Trading Operations (Morning Shift) - Operations

The Derivative Trading Operations team at HKEX operates the regions' premier derivative markets with expanding global reach. We are seeking a high-calibre professional to manage the operations for the trading of futures and options on various underlying assets or indices, and develop the rules and policies for derivatives market trading.

Job Duties:

• Execute Morning Shift trading operations and assist the Morning Shift Team Lead in overseeing daily team activities
• Manage operational risks, exceptional cases, and contingency arrangements during live market operations
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, Exchange rules, and operational procedures
• Maintain timely communication with Exchange Participants, internal departments, and external stakeholders
• Coordinate projects, system enhancements, new product implementation, rule and procedure reviews, user requirements, and user acceptance testing
• Drive workflow automation, process improvement, and control enhancement initiatives
• Maintain operating procedures, management reports, and operational documentation, and provide guidance to junior team members as required

Requirements:

• University degree holder, preferably in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology, or related disciplines
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in financial markets, exchange operations, trading operations, derivatives, or related areas
• Sound knowledge of derivatives products, market practices, trading operations, trading platforms, rules, and procedures
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment under time-critical situations
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Power BI, SQL, VBA, Python, or other automation tools would be an advantage
• Shift duties are required; prior shift experience is an advantage
