Environmental Engineer Specialist - Strategy & Compliance Europe

Do you want to actively drive sustainability, environmental compliance, and strategic environmental initiatives forward? In this role, you will combine regulatory expertise, data-driven analysis, and project management to sustainably improve the environmental performance of our European production sites.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess new and existing EU environmental regulations and support the implementation of regulatory requirements at European production sites
• Implement and develop global environmental strategies in the areas of climate protection, water, waste, and biodiversity
• Develop and lead regional sustainability and biodiversity projects in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Analyse, consolidate, and develop environmental KPIs, dashboards, and reporting processes
• Support the definition of regional environmental goals and derive improvement measures
• Lead and manage environmentally related infrastructure projects including budget, scheduling, and supplier management
• Support internal compliance audits and the implementation of ISO 14001 requirements
• Create and present environmental and performance reports for management and international stakeholders
• Collaborate with global expert teams, authorities, universities, and other external partners

Qualifications

• Successfully completed studies in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, or a comparable technical field
• Several years of professional experience in environmental management, environmental compliance, sustainability, or project management
• Good knowledge of European environmental legislation and relevant regulatory requirements
• Experience in handling data analyses, KPI systems, and reporting and dashboard tools
• Experience in project management, ideally in connection with environmental, infrastructure, or sustainability projects
• Knowledge of environmental management systems and ISO 14001
• Pronounced analytical skills as well as a structured and independent way of working
• Very good communication and presentation skills in an international environment
• Very good German and English language skills
