Description
Visa is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team. As a Software Development Engineer at Visa, you will be an expert problem-solver and builder who designs, implements, and improves software applications and systems.
In this role, you will spend approximately 60–75% of your time coding, working hands-on with code, data, and modern tools, including AI-assisted development, cloud services, and automation frameworks to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality technology solutions that drive business outcomes in the fintech sector.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, data scientists, QA, operations, and compliance, to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, all while adhering to best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and configure data replication schemas between HP NonStop mainframes and multiple open system database instances.
- Lead planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's data replication between unlike and like database products.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Oracle GoldenGate Extract, Replicat, Trails, Manager, and Microservices components.
- Support HP NonStop Guardian and OSS environments, including application troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Assist with improvements to systems and tools and support development and implementation of new automation.
- Engage with team members and manager during code/design reviews, participate in on-call rotations and incident responses.
- Leverage working knowledge of systems/platforms and telemetry analyses to identify basic issues in code, processes, and designs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and support guides.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, audit, and operational standards.
This is a hybrid position, with expectations of at least 3 days in the office, confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Preferred qualifications include 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree.
- Experience in technologies/software systems or a directly related field.
- Experience in developing and/or implementing web-based or mobile applications.
- Experience in system design and architecture for product components.
- Experience in debugging and troubleshooting software issues.
- Solid understanding of Oracle GoldenGate fundamentals and strong architectural/engineering skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to develop back-end code in the HP NonStop environment.
- Knowledge of and the ability to use database software.
Salary Range: $112,100.00 to $173,400.00 USD per year.
