Sr. Test Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join our team at Akebono Brake Corporation in Farmington Hills, MI. This is a full-time, mid-level position.

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be responsible for testing, developing, and validating new or improved automotive brake component designs or new applications of existing designs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, executing, and reporting on experimental and validation tests on brake products
• Analyzing test results and recommending corrective actions in cases of performance non-compliance
• Working with design engineers and project managers to ensure compliance with customer specifications and timing requirements
• Designing and writing test procedures
• Leading technicians in procedures and technical aspects of test and measurement execution
• Recommending and implementing improvements to test equipment and procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S.) from a four-year college or university
• At least four years of related experience in foundation brake design or testing
• Master's Degree in Engineering (M.S.) will receive higher consideration

Preferred skills:

• Experience with problem-solving tools such as Six Sigma, Shainin
• Proficiency in commercial software such as Auto-Cad, Solid Works
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
