5th-8th Grade Science Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified 5th-8th Grade Science Teacher at Northeast Ohio College Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio. As a teacher, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering lesson plans, differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and delivering lesson plans, with the ability to modify them during the school year
• Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Maintaining accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
• Utilising research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction
• Managing student behaviour in the classroom
• Creating a positive classroom environment for students to learn in
• Utilising school-approved curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students
• Implementing school-wide culture expectations and norms
• Communicating and meeting with families regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their child
• Incorporating technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning
• Participating in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities, as needed
• Collaborating and communicating effectively with colleagues

Requirements:

• Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area
• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to properly manage confidential information
• Ability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience working within an urban environment
