Description
We are seeking an experienced System Software Engineer to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. As a System Software Engineer, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for software enhancements and new products. You will gather system requirements from product managers, customers, architects, development engineers, system testers, and customer advocates for service platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
- Analyze design and determine coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
- Write and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identify and debug, and create solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.
- Lead a project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
- Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Represent the software systems engineering team for all phases of larger and more complex development projects. Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in software development.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with one or more programming languages: Golang, Python, Java.
- Experience with Distributed systems and Microservice Architectures using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka.
- Experience with RESTFUL APIs, RPC Frameworks, Web Sockets.
- Experience with Database and Big Data technologies like ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, Dynamo DB, PostgreSQL, and deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL Databases.
- Understanding of fundamental ML concepts and integration patterns for production systems.
- Experience with software development that interfaces with ML models and AI services.
- Knowledge of data preprocessing and feature engineering from a software implementation perspective.
