Position Summary
As a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at MinuteClinic, you'll have the opportunity to deliver affordable, accessible, comprehensive, high-quality care that meets the needs of patients, their families, and communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary and family evidence-based care, including accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counselling, and disposition planning for patients.
- Perform administrative duties, such as opening and closing the clinic, managing inventory, patient follow-up, verifying insurance, and collecting payment.
- Handle patient appointments, perform routine examinations, and ensure positive patient health outcomes.
- Discuss healthy lifestyle choices with patients, complete diagnostic tests, diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals.
- Encourage patients to participate in their own healthcare and well-being through services like health screenings, behavioural health, and wellness, and chronic condition management.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role.
- Or, Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the role.
- Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent.
- Complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including CPR and operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Pass a FIT test and wear the provided respirator mask when protocol requires.
- Depending on the market, proficiency in speaking and writing in additional languages, such as Spanish.
