Protein Purification Associate Scientist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Protein Purification Associate Scientist to join our US Protein Department at GenScript Biotech Corporation.

This role involves executing downstream processing activities including protein purification, characterization, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform protein purification using various chromatography techniques such as affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion, and hydrophobic interaction.
• Prepare buffers and reagents following SOPs and project-specific protocols.
• Characterize protein products using SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, HPLC, UV spectroscopy, BCA assay, and other analytical methods.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of experimental procedures and results.
• Troubleshoot and optimize purification protocols to improve yield and purity.
• Collaborate with upstream, analytical, and quality teams to meet project timelines and specifications.
• Assist in revising and creating SOPs, batch records, and technical reports.
• Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by the department supervisor.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 1+ years of relevant experience in protein purification/characterization.
• Familiarity with AKTA systems and chromatography software is a strong plus.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and data integrity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in a CRO or CDMO setting is preferred.
