Description
WSP is seeking an Intermediate Substation Electrical Engineer for their Buffalo, NY office.
The successful candidate will be involved in projects with the Power and Energy Team, designing high voltage electrical substations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working under the supervision of a Senior Engineer to deliver substation designs
- Preparing substation plan and profile views, grounding, lightning protection, and other installation drawings
- Conducting studies and design calculations using software such as WinIGS, ETAP, and SKM
- Providing input into project proposals and estimates
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and reliable designs
- Maintaining project documentation and adhering to industry standards
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in high-voltage substation design
- Experience working in consulting firms
- Eligibility for P.E. licensing
- Excellent communication skills
