Planning Specialist

We are seeking a Planning Specialist to join our team in Mexico City. As a business partner to various areas of the company, you will ensure compliance with Controlling Guidelines, distribute financial information, and guarantee understanding and comprehension among all users to generate efficiency in controlling, accuracy, realistic planning, and commitment with budget owners, contributing to increased profitability.

Responsibilities

General

• Accurate planning and realistic figures
• Follow-up on risks and opportunities
• Budget transparency
• Ensure Controlling Guideline Compliance
• Distribute financial information on time and with high quality to support company decision-making
• Develop Profitability Analysis
• Ownership of Financial Tools, being the Key user
• Month End Closing: Ensure information quality and Controlling Guideline Compliance
• Anticipate and analyze MEC figures with budget owners
• Share information with each budget owner
• Prepare presentations and reports on MEC, analyzing variances between Plan and Actual
• Identify and address any differences in MEC

Reporting

• Train budget owners to comprehend financial information
• Prepare and distribute BI and Local reports according to budget owner requirements
• Establish routines to discuss actual figure variances vs. Plan
• Establish Profitability reports and discuss with different areas
• Support areas in maintaining budget ownership
• Provide transparent financial information
• Collaborate with budget owners to find solutions to budget problems

Planning & Forecast

• Coordinate areas during Plan Periods, including Business Plan, to guarantee submission and quality of information in business tools
• Train budget owners in Planning tools
• Involve budget owners in the planning process
• Ensure quality of planned figures
• Follow up on findings or disagreements with budget owners
• Ensure planning timeliness
• Key user of BI, Hyperion, BPTool, SAP

Business Partner

• Understand area priorities to provide supportive financial information
• Control KPIs for each area
• Develop financial sensitivity across the organization
• Offer solutions to problems detected within budget owners
• Collaborate with the commercial team to understand customer trade terms, budgets, and profitability
• Work with the marketing team on budget control for events
• Propose and seek savings and efficiencies within budgets
• Prevent over-expenditure
• Ensure Controlling guideline compliance
• Act as a business advisor for maximizing resource usage

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in Finance, preferably in Accounting, Financial Planning, or Controlling
• Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a plus
• Knowledge of integrated systems, such as ERPs, planning systems, and Business Intelligence tools
• Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong business partnering skills
• Strong IT skills and excellent knowledge of MS Excel, SAP BI, Hyperion, or similar tools
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Intermediate to Advanced English
• Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
