Description

The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization by sourcing high-quality parts and services globally while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. As a Supply Chain Risk & Resiliency Specialist, you will serve as a trusted, on-the-ground partner to financially or operationally distressed suppliers, helping them stabilize operations before disruptions impact vehicle production.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with distressed suppliers on-site to diagnose root causes of production or quality risk and develop practical, sustainable corrective action plans.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex capacity constraints and prevent plant disruptions or costly expedited shipping.
  • Evaluate supplier production schedules, capacity, and quality metrics to proactively flag risks to Ford's production plans.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies that safeguard vehicle and powertrain build schedules.
  • Translate complex, technical supplier issues into clear, concise updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Travel to supplier locations (up to 100%, including occasional weekends/off-shifts as needed) to provide direct on-site support during critical production and launch periods.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field , or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or supply chain management.
  • 3+ years in a leadership or cross-functional team leadership capacity.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and structured problem-solving methodologies (such as 8D root-cause analysis).
  • Familiarity with automotive quality processes such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is a plus.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Up to 100% travel required; ability to travel to supplier plant locations when required for onsite support of operationally distressed suppliers.
  • Ability to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to drive urgency in ensuring Ford supply is protected and worked to resolution.
  • Proficient in computer skills – MS Suite/Excel, Data gathering, interpretation & utilization to drive problem solving.
