Software Developer - BATTLEFIELD QV

Electronic Arts is seeking a Software Developer to join the Quality Verification Engineering (QVE) Team for the Battlefield Franchise. As a member of the worldwide Quality Verification (QV) organisation, you will help ensure that games are stable throughout development.

The successful candidate will work on designing, implementing, and maintaining AI bot systems for automated multiplayer playtesting. They will also develop and iterate bot behaviour systems, collaborate with designers and QA engineers, build telemetry pipelines, investigate bot failures, and contribute to architecture modernisation efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain AI bot systems for automated multiplayer playtesting
• Develop and iterate bot behaviour systems using a hierarchical architecture
• Collaborate with designers and QA engineers to translate gameplay scenarios into testable bot behaviours
• Build telemetry pipelines to capture detailed per-bot event data
• Investigate and resolve bot failures during automated playtest sessions
• Contribute to architecture modernisation efforts and refactoring monolithic systems
• Participate in exploratory research on machine learning-driven bot behaviours
• Review peers' code and provide constructive feedback

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a computer science foundation
• Proficiency in C++ is required
• Experience with game engine internals, AI behaviour systems, and automated testing infrastructure is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to improve maintainability in complex codebases
• Familiarity with game development pipelines and shipped game engines would be an asset
• Exposure to machine learning concepts, particularly reinforcement learning, is a bonus
