Description
Leidos is seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to work on a large enterprise IT contract for the Department of Defense. The successful candidate will perform day-to-day technical database administration tasks, including database design, structure identification, schema definition, access privilege management, query optimization, documentation, instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SharePoint Database Services administration, data backup, data recovery, and updating and fixing security patches. Responsibilities also include reviewing data within the database, ensuring user data integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform senior-level database administration tasks and review the technical work of others
- Conduct database design, structure identification, schema definition, access privilege management, query optimization, documentation, instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection
- Review data within the database, ensuring user database integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements
- Monitor and manage backend data synchronization applications and external data source retrieval applications
- Examine customer problems, develop and present solutions, and implement corrective action
- Collaborate on and implement technical solutions with senior management and clients
- Support the development and adherence to procedures and policies
- Provide basic mentorship to junior team members
- Support customer requirements in a 24/7/365 mission environment
- Update technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center (ITOC) personnel
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of prior relevant experience, master's degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience, associate's degree with 12-16 years of prior relevant experience, or High School Diploma with 20+ years of prior relevant experience
- Meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) – IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher)
- US Citizenship required
- TS/SCI with polygraph required for Position OR TS/SCI and willingness to obtain and maintain a polygraph
Benefits:
- Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
