Description
We are seeking an Associate / Technical Director - Flood Forecast Modelling to join our Sustainable Water Management team in the UK. You will work on delivering and growing our national programme of work, specifically focusing on flood forecasting capacity.
As an experienced flood forecast modeller, you will be part of our growing UK-based real-time modelling capacity. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical delivery and leadership for flood forecast modelling and hydrology studies
- Developing Flood Modeller-based flood forecast models and performing performance testing
- Undertaking Quality Assurance and independent technical reviews of existing flood forecasting reports and products
- Producing high-quality client- and public-facing deliverables
- Working with the wider fluvial and pluvial modelling leadership team to further develop our flood forecasting service offering
- Mentoring and providing technical support for less experienced flood forecasting modellers
- Supporting high-quality bid proposals and developing innovative solutions
- Providing project, commercial, and financial management for projects
- Undertaking client and stakeholder liaison

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Excellent understanding of UK flood forecasting techniques and Flood Modeller
- Experience of carrying out reviews and calculations to satisfy UK statutory bodies
- Strong commercial awareness and experience of identifying and developing business opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and influence at all levels
- Excellent report-writing, technical review, numerical, and analytical skills
- Chartership with a relevant professional body
