WSP is seeking an Intermediate Level Structural Engineer for their Ft Worth, Texas office to join the Pacific Civil/Structural Substation team.
This role involves supporting technical staff, engineers, and project managers in planning, analysing, designing, and delivering structural engineering solutions for electrical substation projects in the public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on structural design for electrical substations, including foundations, structural supports, and control building design
- Perform bus analysis calculations and coordinate with multiple disciplines
- Prepare calculation packages to meet client, code, and WSP requirements
- Coordinate with all disciplines contributing to substation design
- Ensure plans adhere to client and WSP standards
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction phase support
- Manage budgets and schedules for multiple projects concurrently
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- 1-3 years of relevant post-education experience
- Knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, and processes
- Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management
- Proficiency in discipline-specific design software such as RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, L-Pile, and MathCAD
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer in Training Certification
- Prior design experience
- Active participation in local professional practice organisations
