Description
WSP is seeking a Full-Time Early Career Civil Engineer (Transmission) for their Freeport, Maine office.
As an Early Career Civil Engineer, you will be involved in projects with the Overhead Transmission Line Design Team, focusing on the technical design of overhead transmission lines, including structure design, foundation design, wire selection, line routing, hardware/material specifications, and construction support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing civil engineering work related to overhead transmission line design
- Conducting site visits to collect data and create models
- Performing load calculations for structure, wire, and foundation design
- Developing material lists and construction drawings
- Supporting projects through construction
- Ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and site-specific procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 0-1 year of relevant post-education experience
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Familiarity with design/build processes and relevant construction laws
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred qualifications include:
- Engineer in Training Certification
- Prior internship experience
- Familiarity with discipline-specific design software
- Participation in local professional practice organisations

The expected salary range for this position is $68,100 - $83,300.
