Description
We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Havering Court Care Home in Romford. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our residents. You will be responsible for driving a team of Care Assistants, providing clinical support, and building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams.
Havering Court Care Home provides 24-hour care for short stays and long-term nursing, residential, and rehabilitation care. We support people living with complex needs, physical disabilities, respiratory and neurological conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, and acquired or traumatic brain injuries.
As a Senior Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
- Supporting with clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans, and accurate record keeping
- Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams
- Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
- Building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
- Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care
- Previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges
- Great interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to work in a close-knit team
