Meteorologist

WFMY-TV Greensboro in CBS is seeking a dynamic Meteorologist to join their team. The successful candidate will prepare and deliver accurate weather reports on-air and online in a conversational style, gathering and analysing information to alert audiences about weather conditions in their community.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing accurate and compelling weather forecasts across multiple platforms
• Preparing and delivering severe weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary
• Producing clean, creative, and informative graphics to tell the weather story
• Filling in on other shifts when necessary
• Writing and reporting from the field or inside the newsroom
• Updating the website and interacting with viewers on social media platforms daily
• Performing special projects and other duties as assigned
• Making public appearances

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in Meteorology, Geoscience, or Atmospheric Science
• 1-3 years of on-air meteorology experience
• Proficiency in posting content to various websites and social media platforms; computer literacy required, including weather and newsroom computer systems
