Description
Electronic Arts is seeking a Software Developer in Test to join their Research & Engineering team. As a Software Developer in Test, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of next-generation creative technologies, including AI-driven tools and content pipelines used by developers and players.
Responsibilities:
- Define and drive test strategy and quality practices across emerging technologies and systems
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and tooling
- Develop API, integration, system, and end-to-end test automation for complex pipelines
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD systems to enable fast, reliable iteration
- Partner with engineers and researchers to ensure testability of new systems from early design stages
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across distributed systems, tools, and runtime environments
- Establish metrics, dashboards, and reporting to monitor system health and quality
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality and reliability
- Mentor team members and advocate for best practices in quality engineering
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or SDET roles, including experience with AAA game engines (e.g., Frostbite, Unity, Unreal, Godot, or proprietary)
- 5+ years programming experience in Python, Typescript or C++
- Expertise using coding agents in large code bases
- Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks and tools
- Experience with API, integration, and system-level testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
- Experience debugging complex systems and analyzing production issues
- Familiarity with observability tools (logging, metrics, alerting)
- Exposure to game engines, content pipelines, or developer tools
- Experience working with emerging technologies such as AI/ML or procedural systems
