Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. As an entry-level chassis design engineer, you will be responsible for designing chassis parts and systems that meet targeted schedule and deliver outstanding performance, quality, reliability, value, and enjoyment to Honda's customers.

Key Accountabilities:

• Achieve Performance, Quality, Cost and Delivery Targets by carrying out duties under the guidance of more senior engineers.
• Think critically and apply fundamental engineering principles to complex targets.
• Plan and coordinate activities with other design, test, factory, purchasing, and suppliers.
• Create own schedules with milestones and trigger points, and share with related groups.
• Attend meetings, lead occasionally, and give constructive thoughts along with keeping track of open items.
• Review costs to ensure they meet design intentions and provide solutions if they do not.
• Model parts and systems in 3D and release 2D drawings and specifications using CATIA & MS Office.
• Proactively share development progress with function members and Chief to confirm proper direction, successful completion, or raise awareness of concerns.
• Complete all required training and share best practices with peers.
• Create Value & Innovation through studying technical trends and new technology, considering more efficient processes to support work, making proposals that create new value for the department, Honda, or customers, and confirming application of development strategies for the area of responsibility.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience - Co-op Experience preferred.
• CAD software (CATIA V5/V6) or closely related, Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions:

• Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, driving.
• Ability to lift components <40 lb. may be required.
• Ability to travel may be required, <5%.
• Ability to work overtime may be required.
