Description
We are seeking a part-time or full-time Salaried GP for our nearly 8000 patient list size surgery in North Romford, Havering.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and capable clinician who loves general practice and wants to help us deliver high-quality primary care.
Main duties of the job
- Conduct face-to-face consultations to diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
- Order diagnostic tests and issue safe, evidence-based prescriptions.
- Refer patients to secondary care specialists, mental health teams, or community services when required.
- Collaborate closely with practice nurses, health visitors, pharmacists, and administrative staff.
- Adhere to General Medical Council (GMC) standards, General Medical Services (GMS) contract requirements, and local clinical governance frameworks.
Job responsibilities
- Deliver appropriate management, treatment, and advice to patients.
- Uphold the principles of good medical practice as stated in the GMC statement of professional values and responsibilities.
- Provide general practice consultations to patients and, where appropriate, physical examinations.
- Arrange referrals for patients where appropriate.
- Provide reports and information to external agencies for the benefit of patients.
- Ensure that clear, accurate contemporaneous records are made of all patient encounters.
- Maintain own personal professional development and continuing medical education.
- Engage in the practice internal appraisal system, as well as the external appraisal and revalidation system.
- Follow practice protocols to deliver Chronic Diseases Management services and the Quality and Outcomes framework.
- Attend and contribute to practice meetings.
- Participate in audit and clinical governance initiatives.
- Work with the practice primary health care team to provide excellent service to our patients.
