Description
We are seeking a Political Advisor to the Labour Group to provide sole administrative, policy and communications support to the Group Leadership and Members. The role will be wide ranging and challenging but will include coordinating meetings, drafting briefings and reports, and generally supporting the Group's work at the Council.
The successful candidate will be an organised and confident individual, able to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines. They will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and produce clear, high-quality materials.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating meetings and events
- Drafting briefings and reports
- Supporting the Group's work at the Council
- Building relationships with Members, senior officers, and external stakeholders
- Working on sensitive and complex issues in a dynamic political environment

The job is primarily based at Whitechapel Town Hall, 160 Whitechapel Road, E1 1BJ. Evening and some weekend work is required. Hybrid working is available although significant time in the office will be required.
