The Application Management Manager cum Application Architect is accountable for managing the stability, performance, lifecycle, and architecture of enterprise applications, leading application management activities, and defining application design principles, standards, and roadmaps to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, integrated, and aligned with business objectives, security, and governance standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and continuous improvement of enterprise applications to ensure stability, performance, and alignment with business needs.
  • Define and maintain application architecture principles, standards, and roadmaps to support scalable, secure, and integrated solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose application designs and guide solution decisions across the application landscape.
  • Oversee application support, maintenance, upgrades, releases, and lifecycle management across business-critical platforms.
  • Provide architecture governance and design assurance to ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security requirements, and risk controls.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendors to deliver sustainable and cost-effective application solutions.
  • Drive application portfolio improvement through modernization, rationalization, risk management, and technical debt reduction.
  • Prepare architecture recommendations, health assessments, and investment proposals to support management decision-making.

Job Accountability

  • Accountable for the stability, reliability, supportability, and architectural integrity of assigned business applications.
  • Accountable for defining and enforcing application architecture standards, design guardrails, and technology choices within approved governance.
  • Accountable for ensuring application changes, integrations, upgrades, and deployments are architecturally sound, properly tested, approved, and implemented.
  • Accountable for maintaining accurate architecture documentation, solution decisions, support procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Accountable for managing application-related risks, obsolescence, security controls, access controls, and compliance obligations.
  • Accountable for aligning application roadmaps and investment recommendations with business priorities, operational needs, and enterprise architecture direction.
  • Accountable for effective coordination among internal teams, business users, architects, and external partners to deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Accountable for identifying opportunities to modernize, rationalize, simplify, or retire applications to improve business value, resilience, and cost efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in application management, application development, solution design, or enterprise systems, including architecture or leadership exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of application architecture, system integration, APIs, data flows, middleware, security design, and application lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise applications such as CRM, finance, digital, workflow, or other business-critical platforms.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms, databases, integration patterns, non-functional requirements, and architecture governance practices.
  • Experience in evaluating technology options, defining target architecture, and guiding implementation teams through architecture decisions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, planning, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into architecture decisions and technical direction.
  • Knowledge of IT service management and governance practices such as ITIL, SDLC, change management, and risk management is an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications in architecture, cloud, project delivery, security, or service management such as TOGAF, ITIL, Azure, or equivalent are a plus.
