Assistant Manager, Safety

We are seeking an Assistant Manager, Safety to provide leadership, governance, and operational excellence for facility-based fire/emergency response departments across multiple sites.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with municipal/city response contracts and deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective emergency response capabilities aligned with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and manage staffing models for Fire Chiefs/Assistant Chiefs
• Oversee fire-related programs, including Hot Work, Fire Watch, Emergency Response Planning, and Fire Prevention Awareness
• Manage emergency response plans and strategies for training, testing, and improving response capabilities
• Lead fire prevention teams and drive continuous improvement across all sites
• Manage municipal/city contracts, KPIs, and relationships with public safety agencies
• Analyze incident trends and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate with site leadership, security, HSE, facilities, HR, and legal teams
• Manage operational budgets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Safety, Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of fire prevention, safety experience, or equivalent Honda manufacturing experience
• Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or similar certifications
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
• Expert understanding of medical and fire prevention systems
• Project management skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
