Manager - Group Underwriting

We are seeking a Manager - Group Underwriting to join our team at Prudential India Health. As a Manager - Group Underwriting, you will develop and evolve detailed standard operating procedures for comprehensive and seamless functioning of Onboarding and Underwriting management processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for onboarding and underwriting management processes
• Build processes and teams with a focus on automation, scalability, and productivity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Technology, Product & Actuarial, Claims, Compliance, Risk Management, Sales, and Finance
• Manage day-to-day group underwriting of new business/renewal, creation of RFQs, and clearance of quotations
• Create guidelines for risk mitigation and data collection templates for generating quotations
• Work on automating system-generated quotation processes and iterations
• Liaise with relationship managers, broker partners, and clients for quote conversion
• Ensure clearance of inward referred quotations within desired/promised SLAs
• Evaluate and determine right pricing for quotes based on various levers
• Review evidence on previous claims experience, burning cost, IBNR, coverages opted, and other rating factors
• Communicate effectively with relationship managers and distribution teams
• Work with internal teams to design workflows for group customers and document underwriting requirements
• Conduct market research on underwriting practices and product availability
• Create bundled/package plans for partners with pricing and coverages
• Collaborate for system configuration and communications with ops, marketing, etc.
• Coordinate and work closely on creating KPIs to monitor group performance

Requirements:

• Postgraduate or Graduate with a great understanding of Group health business
• 12-14 years of experience in Insurance, with at least 6 years in group Underwriting
• Understanding of underwriting operations, workflow, and servicing model
• Ability to create innovative plans and packages in the group health space
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel, Power Query, data analytics, SQL, or other tools
