Responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor-MP&L, you will:

  • Coach safety, quality, and productivity to ensure objectives are met through standardized work
  • Monitor and respond to andon occurrences as a secondary support
  • Verify that the production line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts through Process Confirmation
  • Support continuous improvement and coach problem resolution
  • Communicate and recognize team members
  • Build Team Leader and Team Member capability
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team
  • Oversee daily material handling functions for the facility and department
  • Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock to production line feed location to delivery of finished product
  • Provide direction and support for resource allocation for material handling responsibilities
  • Support Ford Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices
  • Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel
  • Ensure flawless introduction of new parts to production
  • Implement the Engineering Change Process effectively
  • Identify and correct data gaps in CMMS

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to work any shift, including rotating shifts and weekends
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in One FORD behaviors with outstanding interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Management
  • Body shop/stamping/subassembly or manufacturing assembly and machining experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Safety and MP&L experience
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
