Manager, Technology, Disney Store Japan

In today's business landscape, technology and digital are crucial elements for success across all industries. As part of the Direct-To-Consumer Retail (DTCR) organisation, the Technology & Digital team plays a vital role in driving digital transformation for Disney Store and Disneystore.jp (e-commerce).

The focus is on unifying customer data, product purchasing data, and inventory management to enhance marketing activities. A key priority is developing an integrated data system and network.

As Manager, Technology, Disney Store Japan, you will oversee the management and integration of inventory and purchasing data used in Disney store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Strategy & Planning

• Develop and maintain the data integration foundation and data flow to strengthen Disney's IT capabilities.
• Verify ROI for projects and monitor progress.
• Establish processes for technology solution projects.
• Create mid-to-long-term IT investment plans and contribute to DTCR growth strategies.

System Development Project (Tech Solution)

• Lead the launch of new services and rebuild the overall DTC data platform.
• Collaborate with business leaders to clarify requirements.
• Work with development partners to launch services.
• Manage service launch activities, including design, development, testing, and operation planning.
• Guide and develop technology solution team members.

System Sustainment (Sustainment & Enhancement)

• Manage and enhance existing services.
• Oversee issue management and maintenance.
• Handle infrastructure for 45 stores in Japan.
• Conduct security audits (e.g., TRON).
• Design architecture and create roadmaps.
• Identify and lead enhancement activities as needed.

Vendor Management

• Maintain effective, positive, and professional relationships with service providers and third-party representatives.

Team Management

• Guide and develop members of the technology solution team and sustainment and enhancement team.

Requirements:

• Experience building DB environments.
• Data warehouse design experience.
• Business Intelligence (BI) experience.
• PM experience (large-scale system modifications).
• Over 10 years of system development experience, including practical development experience.
• Experience in project management or project leadership in system development projects.
• Experience leading projects in collaboration with development partners.
• Technical design experience based on business requirements.
• Familiarity with retail industry practices (desirable).

Required Skills:

• Database specialist/SQL Server (MS Database Admin)/Oracle Gold or equivalent.
• Understanding of ETL.
• Knowledge of core systems.
• System development skills (including practical development with Java, SQL, etc.).
• Technical design (solution design).
• Basic knowledge of networks and security.
• Basic knowledge of mobile app development (desirable).
• General skills: budget management, PL/BS understanding, basic accounting knowledge (bookkeeping desirable), partner management, Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel, Word).
• Language proficiency: native-level Japanese.
• Industry knowledge: basic understanding of the retail sector (desirable).
• Specific skills: Salesforce Commerce Cloud (desirable), e-commerce-related technologies (desirable).
