Description
We are seeking a Buyer Commodity Specialist to join our team in Shenzhen, China. As a Buyer Commodity Specialist, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management:
- Coordinate supplier reliability evaluations through visits, analysis of cost reports, and quality system audits
- Develop requests for information/proposal/quotation and analyze supplier responses
- Maintain supplier scorecards and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
- Cost Management:
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable prices, schedules, and terms
- Identify and lead life cycle cost-down projects
- Track spendings and cost-savings, setting quarterly projections and targets
- Supply Chain Management and Sourcing:
- Manage complex and long-term contracts
- Monitor supply chain healthiness and stability, alerting risks and mitigating them
- Source new suppliers and develop existing ones to maintain cost advantages and supply availability
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Operation Skills:
- Engage with new product development teams, partnering with Engineering, Quality, and Operation teams
- Interact with individuals in administrative or executive positions within the company and supplier organizations
- Leverage internal and external resources to optimize supply chain and improve supplier performance
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in procurement, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- Strong team player with ownership of supplier accounts and programs
- Proven procurement experience and project management skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Oracle, and Tableau
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong analytical and reporting skills
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
