Staff+ Software Engineer, Platform Distribution

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff+ Software Engineer to join our Platform Distribution team at Anthropic. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in transforming the Claude API into a cloud-native, managed product that runs seamlessly across various cloud platforms and Anthropic's own infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Claude Platform on the Clouds

• Make the Claude Platform a top-notch offering on Cloud Service Providers' platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) by integrating our API, control plane, and Anthropic features with their services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, Systems, Networking, Databases, and Inference, to drive native integrations and solve complex technical problems at scale.

Enterprise Readiness

• Develop next-generation enterprise enablement features that cater to regulated customers and facilitate scalability for existing ones.
• Focus on enterprise growth, security, and compliance, incorporating features such as key management, encryption, audit APIs, usage visibility, access control, and international data residency.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as a backend or platform engineer designing scalable distributed systems, preferably at a tech lead level or equivalent.
• Product-focused approach to platform development, prioritizing robust, scalable, and customer-friendly solutions.
• Experience owning large-scale infrastructure systems and leading cross-team technical projects from conception to production.
• Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure) and/or Enterprise SaaS, with a background in security, compliance, or data residency.
• Strong ownership mentality, taking full responsibility for work from design to deployment and operations.
• Proficiency in languages like Python, Go, Rust, or similar systems languages.
