You will be joining Carta's North America Contracts team as a Junior Paralegal, supporting lawyers with contract-related tasks.
Responsibilities
As a Junior Paralegal, you'll work to:
- Support lawyers with first-round markups of investment-related NDAs and commercial contracts
- Manage document lifecycles, track deadlines, communicate with counterparties, and assist with execution
- Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high-quality client delivery across fast-moving, high-volume matters
- Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts
Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Has 0-1+ years of experience (internship experience) with a bachelor's degree in law or equivalent; prior exposure to NDAs is a plus but not required
- Is eager to learn and grow, motivated, curious, and excited to develop expertise in legal practice
- Is organized and efficient, prioritizing well, managing competing deadlines, and keeping matters moving without losing attention to detail
- Is a strong communicator, writing and speaking clearly and professionally
- Is a self-starter, taking initiative, working independently when needed, and proactively flagging issues before they become problems
- Is a team player, collaborating effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams across a fast-paced environment
Salary
Our expected cash compensation (salary) range for this role is:
- $57,012 - $81,099 in Hamilton, NJ and Dallas, TX (hourly rate of $27.41 - $38.99)
- $63,731 - $90,640 in Seattle, WA (hourly rate of $30.64 - $43.58)
- $53,664 - $76,328 in Sandy, UT (hourly rate of $25.80 - $45.78)
*Annualized salary based on estimated 40 hours per week before overtime
