Software Development Engineer

As a Software Development Engineer on the Ordering team at Amazon, you will design and implement scalable software solutions to enable millions of customers to buy anything, anywhere, anytime. You will work on real-world problems on a global scale, own systems end-to-end, and influence technology direction impacting hundreds of millions of customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable software solutions balancing immediate needs with long-term architectural vision
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment, and maintenance of critical systems
• Participate in code reviews providing meaningful technical feedback and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code
• Drive operational excellence by identifying root causes of issues and implementing permanent solutions
• Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand business requirements and deliver solutions

A typical day involves team stand-ups, developing new features, building tools, code reviews, and collaborating with teammates to solve technical challenges.
