Description
We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant Manager to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Lincoln, Alabama. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, or Business Management and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
The Purchasing Assistant Manager will be responsible for coordinating daily activities with buyers and technical lead support to ensure Key Performance Indicators are met by mitigating risk of Downtime, GDP, and Cost from our North American supply base. The Group Leader will also be responsible for implementing business plan themes/strategies developed by SC Delivery Department leadership and SCM Business Unit leadership as well as site Delivery budgets.
Key accountabilities include:
- Supporting Site Delivery Frame Unit Leaders/buyers in troubleshooting supplier and/or site-specific issues
- Leading the execution of Business Plan Themes/Strategies, Budget, Key Performance Indicators
- Maintaining critical projects, Business Plan Themes, and other initiatives
- Benchmarking with other HDMA Frame Sites to identify and apply cost-saving opportunities
- Engaging associates to develop and implement system enhancements and supplier improvement items
- Leading associate development activities
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from different cultures, backgrounds, and viewpoints. They will also have a strong understanding of the business, processes, and technology employed across Honda's operational units.
