Revenue Accounting Manager

Databricks is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to join their team, reporting to the Manager of Revenue Accounting. The successful candidate will have significant ownership and cross-functional influence across the full revenue accounting close cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the close, end to end, owning and reviewing monthly close activities
• Apply ASC 606 with sound judgment, evaluating complex customer arrangements
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies across contracts, billing systems, and the general ledger
• Manage key revenue accounts and ensure accurate balances
• Analyze large datasets to provide insights and recommendations
• Lead system and process improvements, defining business requirements and partnering with Engineering and Finance Data Services
• Automate manual processes using SQL, scripts, AI tools, and workflow improvements
• Strengthen internal controls and support financial reporting
• Collaborate across functions, building strong partnerships with various teams

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or equivalent professional certification
• 10+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate revenue accounting, or related financial operations
• Strong understanding of ASC 606 and complex revenue recognition principles
• Operational accounting experience at a rapidly growing company
• Demonstrated experience leading monthly and quarterly close activities and improving close speed and quality
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using AI tools

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with usage-based SaaS and subscription revenue arrangements
• Database and SQL experience
• Experience defining system requirements and leading UAT
• Track record of identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable automation solutions
