Description
As the Developer Relations Manager for Claude Platform at Anthropic, you will lead the team responsible for how developers discover, onboard, build, and scale applications using the Claude Platform.
This role will be pivotal in growing our developer ecosystem, gathering crucial feedback to inform product development, and ensuring our Platform is used responsibly across a diverse range of implementations.
You will set the vision and strategy for growing and engaging Claude Platform’s developer community. Your success in this role will directly shape Anthropic's growth trajectory and market position while ensuring our APIs are used to create safe, positive outcomes.
Building strong relationships between our developer community and internal teams will be essential as we advance our mission of creating safe AI.
Key Responsibilities
Set the Vision and Drive Strategic Impact
- Develop and execute strategies for how developers discover and grow their integrations on the Claude Platform.
- Create and execute plans for content that educates developers on building high-quality integrations with the Claude Platform.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to ensure developer feedback informs the roadmap.
- Prioritize initiatives based on data, feedback, and the needs of both developers and the company.
Build and Lead a World-Class Team
- Define and pioneer world-class developer relations in this rapidly evolving field.
- Recruit, inspire, and scale a high-impact developer relations team with a global reach.
- Foster a collaborative culture that embodies Anthropic's values and drives innovation in developer engagement.
- Create and implement scalable processes as the team and developer ecosystem expand.
- Establish clear growth paths and development opportunities for team members.
Drive Alignment and Innovation Through Cross-Functional Leadership
- Advocate for Claude Platform developer needs within Anthropic, translating feedback into strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with Research to create accessible educational resources on AI capabilities.
- Partner with Communications and Marketing teams to amplify developer success stories.
- Ensure best practices for responsible AI use are adopted by developers building on the Claude Platform.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience building and leading developer relations, developer experience, or technical product teams with a proven track record of growing developer ecosystems.
- Technical credibility with an understanding of AI/ML and API concepts, able to translate complex technical ideas for various audiences.
- Hands-on technical abilities, capable of creating code demos and providing technical feedback.
- Insight into developer psychology and behavior, knowing how to reach developers and design education programs.
- Passionate about AI's potential and committed to ensuring it's developed responsibly.
- Collaborative leadership skills, influencing across teams without direct authority.
- Experience scaling teams in high-growth environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working specifically with AI developer platforms.
- Public speaking experience at industry conferences.
- Content creation experience (technical writing, video tutorials, etc.).
Logistics
- Annual Salary: $290,000-$435,000 USD.
- Location Preference: Given to candidates based in NY, SEA, SF, or the Bay Area.
- Hybrid policy: Expect to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
- Visa sponsorship: Available, with efforts made to secure visas for successful candidates.
