Description
Electronic Arts is seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Director to lead and unify the lighting teams across multiple game modes for EA SPORTS FC. The successful candidate will report to the Group Art and Animation Director and collaborate with Senior Art Directors to create a cohesive lighting vision.
The Senior Lighting Director will be responsible for the holistic lighting vision for FC across multiple game modes and experiences. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a cohesive lighting strategy across all FC departments
- Integrating advanced lighting technologies, focusing on interactive and dynamic solutions for future projects
- Managing, guiding, and mentoring lighting teams to foster a collaborative and inclusive culture
- Collaborating with Rendering and other departments to ensure consistent visual targets and methodologies
- Overseeing lighting projects to ensure they meet quality standards and align with the overall creative vision
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of experience in lighting direction in the gaming industry
- Expert understanding of lighting aesthetics and principles
- Strong artistic eye for composition, mood, and atmosphere
- Deep understanding of color theory, exposure, and contrast
- Strong knowledge of advanced lighting technologies, including machine learning applications
- Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
In terms of software skills, the successful candidate will have:
- Expert understanding of shaders and how they relate to lighting
- Solid understanding of scripting lighting interactions
- Expert understanding of Maya, Photoshop, and Compositing Software
- Expert knowledge of modern lighting techniques
- Understanding of source control (Perforce or equivalent)
- Familiarity with project management software (Jira, Shotgun)
The salary range for this position is $160,700 - $224,700 CAD per year. Benefits include vacation time, sick leave, health and dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and a retirement plan.
