Description
Ford is seeking a Software Development Engineer - SAP ABAP Senior to join their Enterprise Architecture – Foundational Products group. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing APIs to connect to SAP and non-SAP systems, enhancing SAP systems using BADI's, User exits, and Customer exits, and building RICEFW's (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms, and Workflows).
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop APIs to connect to SAP/Non-SAP using RFC, ALE/IDOCs, Output Programming using SAP Script, Smart forms, Adobe Forms.
- Integrate with Non-SAP systems using Web Services/Proxies/APIs.
- Experience designing and maintaining Core Data Services (CDS) views and AMDP classes.
- Enhance SAP system using BADI’s, User exits, Customer exits and enhancement framework options.
- Build RICEFW’s (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms, and Workflows).
- Experience with IDOC and API Integrations using OData API, SOAP API and IDOC as XML.
- Good understanding of XML, JSON, SOAP, API and REST Web services.
- Performance Tuning, problem solving skills and Debugging/Defect Management.
- Strong experience in ABAP programming and development of ODATA services (preferably OOPS based).
- Good experience in ABAP Syntax 7.4 and in BRF+ and in SAP upgrade projects.
- Deep understanding of core enhancement frameworks, with hands-on experience in BAdIs and S/4HANA In-App Extensibility (Key User Extensibility).
- Proficiency in designing and developing Adobe Forms and working with modern S/4HANA Output Control / Output Management frameworks.
- Strong experience configuring, developing, and extending S/4HANA Flexible Workflows.
- Perform full life cycle API management from build, mask, spike, publish and monetize APIs.
- Work with client stakeholders and vendor to design and configure API enhancements.
- Gather customer requirements and develop/test/deploy API solutions to provide interoperability with hundreds of upstream and downstream applications.
- Consult upstream and downstream application teams on consuming SAP APIs leveraging APIGEE gateway.
- Work with stakeholders and other Ford and vendor teams to ensure service availability.
- Consult with architects to ensure design compliant to architecture standards and principles.
- Connect and mashup multiple endpoints from heterogeneous landscape.
- Extend solutions for mobile, offline and integration.
- Reviews code developed by software engineers and provide feedback to ensure quality deliverable.
- Ensures technical inspections are performed at appropriate stages of development.
- Lead creation of production support documentation and provide production support for the objects developed.
- Thrive in a fast-paced working norm and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
- Collaborate with vendors, Ford IT and Business teams and meet the enterprise objectives.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with SAP ABAP programming in S4 HANA.
- Minimum 2 full SAP life cycle S/4 implementations experience.
- Experience with programming in ABAP 7.4 and above, RICEFW development, CDS Views, AMDP, DDIC, UI5/Fiori, ODATA, Java scripting.
- Problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Effective team player working with Onsite and Offshore teams.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as well as software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Iterative, Waterfall, etc.).
- Good functional knowledge on Finance and Purchasing (SD/FI/Ariba) modules.
- Effective team player working with Onsite and Offshore teams.
